Minnesota lawmaker shooting suspect captured

A man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband, and targeting another politician, has been caught.

Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot dead in their home on Saturday.

Their deaths were described by governor Tim Walz as a politically motivated assassination, who has confirmed the suspect was captured alive.

Iran hits back following Israeli strikes on nuclear targets

Trump reacts to Israel's assault on Iran

Iran says several of its top military commanders and a senior official to the country's Supreme Leader have been killed in a wave of Israeli air strikes that targeted the country's nuclear facilities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the military campaign will continue until he concludes the Iran no longer poses a threat to the region.

The Iranians responded with more than 100 drones targeting Israel, and accused the United States of supporting the Israeli military action.

But President Trump says the US military played no role in Israel's military assault.

In India, the country has woken up to the aftermath of one of the worst aviation disasters globally.


An Air India plane with 242 people - headed to London from Ahmedabad- crashed minutes after take off on Thursday.

Only one passenger survived.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now visited the site of the crash, where the focus has now shifted to gathering evidence to probe the crash.
