Investigations into Air India plane crash underway

Investigators have begun piecing together clues at the Air India crash site, days after a London-bound flight crashed in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.

Only one of 242 passengers survived that crash.

Minnesota lawmaker shooting suspect captured

A man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband, and targeting another politician, has been caught.

Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot dead in their home on Saturday.

Their deaths were described by governor Tim Walz as a politically motivated assassination, who has confirmed the suspect was captured alive.

Massive manhunt underway in Minnesota after lawmakers gunned down in “politically motivated” attack

Law enforcement in Minnesota is sweeping through entire neighborhoods - searching for a man they say gunned down two democratic lawmakers in a politically motivated attack. Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed in their home early Saturday morning. Senator John Hoffman and his wife were also attacked in their home and are recovering in hospital. Toni Waterman has more.

Iran hits back following Israeli strikes on nuclear targets

Israel says it is dealing with retaliatory strikes from Iran after Tel Aviv hit nuclear and military facilities, killing several senior Iranians including the head of the country's Revolutionary Guard.


US President Donald Trump says Washington was aware of Israel's actions ahead of time and has been pressing Iran to make a deal to limit its nuclear activities.

Tributes are paid to those killed in India plane crash

INTRO:  In the UK, tributes have been paid to some of the 53 Britons who were onboard the Air India flight from Ahmedabad, which was bound for London, when it crashed killing more than 240 people.

Trump reacts to Israel's assault on Iran

Iran says several of its top military commanders and a senior official to the country's Supreme Leader have been killed in a wave of Israeli air strikes that targeted the country's nuclear facilities.


Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the military campaign will continue until he concludes the Iran no longer poses a threat to the region.


The Iranians responded with more than 100 drones targeting Israel, and accused the United States of supporting the Israeli military action.


But President Trump says the US military played no role in Israel's military assault.

14-year-old boy charged with murder in France after teaching assistant killed

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder in France after a teaching assistant was killed at a school in eastern France on Tuesday.

The attack sparked a call from the French president to ban social media to the under-15s.

An Air India plane with 242 people - headed to London from Ahmedabad- crashed minutes after take off on Thursday.

Only one passenger survived.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now visited the site of the crash, where the focus has now shifted to gathering evidence to probe the crash.
