Security across Pakistan is on high alert amid Indian cross-border strikes.

US and China to launch formal trade talks

INTRO: Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will lead trade talks with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer later this week in Switzerland, seeking to de-escalate a tariff standoff that has threatened to hammer both economies.

It will be the first confirmed trade talks between the countries since President Donald Trump announced punishing levies of as high as 145% on China that were met with retaliatory rates of 125% from Beijing. Laura Westbrook reports.

Days after 26 people were killed in a terror attack in Indian administered Kashmir, New Delhi says it has hit 'terrorist infrastructure' in Pakistan.

India has defended the strikes, targeting nine locations across Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir, calling its response 'measured, responsible and designed to be non-escalatory in nature'

India halts river water to Pakistan for hydro projects, heightening tensions
