French politician suggests sending people up for deportation to tiny Atlantic outpost

A leading right-wing French politician has been criticised for suggesting sending people who are under an order to leave France to the tiny North Atlantic outpost of Saint Pierre and Miquelon (PRON: Mikkelon).

Indian pharma sector braces for impact from potential US tariffs

UN Secretary General calls on Israel to allow aid into Gaza

The United Nations Secretary General has appealed to Israel to rescind
its decision to block aid into Gaza.
Israel stopped aid convoys from entering the strip last month -
accusing Hamas of diverting aid.

India's power consumption rises drastically due to extreme heat

India's electricity demand during the summer months of 2024 rose by more than 10% compared to the year before.

French president visits Egypt-Gaza border region

The French president is visiting the Egyptian border region with Gaza on Tuesday, as part of a continuing tour focused on ending the fighting and supporting reconstruction in the Palestinian enclave.

Trump says he won't pause tariffs but may be open to negotiation

US President Donald Trump has said he has no plans to pause global tariffs but said he was open to negotiation with some countries.

But he threatened a further 50 per cent tariff on China if it doesn't withdraw its retaliatory tariff by midday on Tuesday.

Trump administration asks Supreme Court to block return of mistakenly deported man

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to block a court order requiring it to return a man who was mistakenly deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador.
