President Biden blocks major steel takeover

Outgoing US President Joe Biden has officially blocked a Japanese company from buying the United States Steel Corporation, warning that foreign ownership would pose a danger to national security.


Nippon Steel, the fourth-largest steelmaker in the world, had bid close to $15 billion to purchase the once-iconic American industrial powerhouse. 


But that takeover is now on the brink of collapse, as Benji Hyer reports.

Dense fog hits Indian capital disrupting air and rail travel

More than 200 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport - one of the busiest airports in the world, due a thick blanket of fog engulfing the Indian capital on Friday.

The fog in the city was so dense that visibility dipped to zero kilometres in some areas.

Flu Cases In English Hospitals Up Sharply

The number of people in hospital with flu in England has more than quadrupled since last month.


New National Health Service figures show the number of admissions for flu is also up sharply compared to this week last year.


Roughly five thousand people with the virus are being treated in hospital at the moment, with some senior doctors warning that services are being pushed to breaking point.

Socialite known for extreme plastic surgery dies in Paris
