US charges man of Iranian plot to kill Donald Trump

The United States has criminally charged a person in connection with an alleged plot, thwarted by the FBI, to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump.


In a statement on Friday, the US Department of Justice said the man had been assigned by an Iranian government official to take part in a murder-for-hire plot before this week's election.

Donald Trump vows to press on with mass deportations plans

President-elect Donald Trump says one of his first priorities upon taking office in January will be to make his country's southern border "strong and powerful."


As a candidate, the former President repeatedly vowed to carry out the "largest deportation effort in American history" if he won the election, having railed against illegal immigration during the campaign.
