A day after opposition leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Modi in Parliament, Modi will formally respond in India's Lower House.

Modi came back to power this month with a reduced mandate even as the opposition put up its best showing in a decade.

A resurgent opposition has been targeting Modi's Hindu nationalist party for failing to address rising prices and an unemployment crisis, and also for failing to crackdown on attacks against minority communities.

Victims Families "Dissatisfied" with Reported Boeing Plea Deal

Families of the victims from two major crashes involving Boeing aircraft are said to be unhappy with a plea agreement reportedly offered to the company in recent days.

It comes as Boeing is under intense scrutiny for its safety protocols.

Trump allies celebrate Supreme Court ruling

Allies of Donald Trump are celebrating his partial victory in the Supreme Court.

The Justices ruled 6-3 that Trump has limited immunity in the federal
election interference case for acts he took while he was President.

A lower court will now decide how to interpret the Justice's opinion,
which will further delay the trial on charges he tried to overturn the
2020 election result.

Reacting to the news Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene called
on the case against Trump - led by prosecutor Jack Smith - to be
dropped.

Hurricane Beryl hits Caribbean

Hurricane Beryl has smashed into the eastern edge of the Caribbean.

It is the strongest hurricane to pass through the region according to
data that goes all the way back to 1851.

The Category 4 hurricane brought winds of 240 kilometers an hour.

The storm made landfall initially on Carriacou [KER-E-KOO] Island on
Monday morning local time according to the National Hurricane Center.

Trump ally Steve Bannon due to start prison sentence

Former senior aide to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, is due to report to prison today (Monday) to begin serving a four month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena from the House committee investigating the January 6th 2021 attack on the US Capitol.


The sentence means the former Trump strategist could be incarcerated almost until the presidential election in November.

Delhi airport terminal where roof collapsed to stay shut for a month

Days after the roof of a terminal at the Delhi airport collapsed, officials say operations will likely resume only next month.

The roof collapsed last week killing one person and injuring eight others.

The opposition has blamed the collapse on poor construction quality after reports suggested Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the recently renovated building.
