Manhattan DA: Prosecution followed "the facts and the law" in Trump trial

Ukraine gets permission to strike targets within Russia using US-provided weapons

Ukraine can now strike targets in Russia using US-provided arms after President Joe Biden gave the go-ahead on Thursday, a marked policy shift that comes at a critical time in the conflict. 

Administration officials say the permission is granted but limited to the area of Kharkiv in the north-east of the country, the scene of intense fighting amid a Russian advance across the border. 

The decision sees the United States follow the stance taken by some European allies, that Ukraine should have the right to attack within Russia with Western weapons.

US Q1 GDP revised down

The US economy didn't grow as fast in the first quarter of this year as initially believed, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

A revision of the numbers, based on more complete data, show that gross domestic product — or GDP — increased 1.3 percent. But that's lower than the 1.6 percent forecast issued last month, not the best news for the sitting President during an election year, as Benji Hyer reports.
