SUGGESTED LEAD
The United States has announced new sanctions against the Uganda Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and three other lawmakers, and a former deputy of the Ugandan army for their involvement in corruption and gross violations of human rights.
The visa restrictions come weeks after the UK imposed similar sanctions on the Speaker and the two former ministers for Karamoja.
