India's Vistara cuts down operations, leading to a 25% hike in airfares

India's Vistara airlines has cut down flight operations, which has led to an increase in fares by approximately 20-25%, especially across key domestic routes.

This comes after the Indian airline company faced significant disruptions with several flight cancellations last week after a number of its pilots called in sick.

Modi refutes China claim on frontier region while on campaign trail

In past moments, North America has experienced a once-in-a-lifetime event: a full solar eclipse — a rarity over a continuous stretch of land.


It was the first time in hundreds of years that the phenomenon passed over huge swathes of the continent.

A vote on Palestine's admission to the UN could happen soon

FAA investigating after engine cover comes off Southwest flight during takeoff


In the U.S., a Southwest Airlines flight Boeing 737 had to return to Denver shortly after takeoff after an engine cover fell off.

Yellen wraps up China trip with overproduction warning

Security Council to decide on admitting Palestine as a permanent UN member

The United Nations Security Council will today (Monday) decide whether
to allow Palestine permanent membership to the world body.
Earlier this month the Arab group sent a letter to the Secretary
General expressing support for the admission of the State of Palestine
to UN membership.
Once this council process is passed it will be voted on in the General
Assembly -- which requires a two-thirds majority.
