12 year old arrested after deadly school shooting in Finland

One child has died and two seriously wounded after a school shooting in Finland.


A 12 year old pupil has been arrested following the incident, which took place on Tuesday morning.

Seven aid workers killed in Gaza

The charity World Central Kitchen says seven of its aid workers have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza after dropping off food at a warehouse. Arrested Indian opposition leader's party members claim they are being forced to join the BJP

A day after prominent Indian opposition leader Arvind Kejriwal was sent to prison, his party members claim they are being forced to join Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party.

A senior leader of Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi party says three more leaders are likely to be arrested by India's federal probe agencies next unless they agree to join the BJP.

Opposition in India has been accusing the Modi government of using federal agencies to crack down on opposition leaders and parties ahead of the upcoming national elections - a charge that Mr Modi has denied.

US-Israel talks over Gaza offensive

The United States and Israel are holding a virtual meeting today to discuss the alternatives to a military invasion of the Gazan city of Rafah.


Israeli forces have for weeks been planning to push into the southern tip of the besieged strip, where more than a million displaced Palestinians are gathered.

Authorities to open alternate shipping route in Baltimore

Authorities are planning to open a temporary alternate channel in the US city of Baltimore, to allow some marine traffic to enter the port.


Cleanup efforts are underway there after a cargo ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge last week - blocking access to the busy cargo terminal.


But the operation is being complicated by fast-moving waters and dangerous conditions underneath the surface.


Salvage experts say clearing debris in the Patapsco River is likely to take weeks.

India's foreign minister has reacted to comments made by US Ambassador Eric Garcetti over an alleged assassination attempt against a Khalistan separatist on American soil, saying that India's national security interests are driving its investigation.
