Arrested Indian opposition leader's party members claim they are being forced to join the BJP

A day after prominent Indian opposition leader Arvind Kejriwal was sent to prison, his party members claim they are being forced to join Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party.

A senior leader of Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi party says three more leaders are likely to be arrested by India's federal probe agencies next unless they agree to join the BJP.

Opposition in India has been accusing the Modi government of using federal agencies to crack down on opposition leaders and parties ahead of the upcoming national elections - a charge that Mr Modi has denied.
