Japan opposition calling for sworn testimonies over LDP fundraising scandal

Opposition lawmakers in Japan are calling for ruling LDP members to give a sworn testimony before parliament over allegations of skimming from fundraising proceeds. 

Senior LDP members are accused of failing to report more than four million dollars of ticket sales to fundraising events.

Federal Reserve leaves US interest rates unchanged

The Federal Reserve has left interest rates unchanged - with policymakers indicating borrowing costs will come down by the end of the year.

Judge rules Trump can appeal Fani Willis ruling

A Georgia judge has cleared the way for Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump to appeal a ruling that allowed the lead prosecutor in the Georgia election subversion case to remain in the job.


Fulton County Superior Court judge Scott McAfee has ruled that the former president can ask a state appeals court to consider whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified over her romantic relationship with a special prosecutor she hired.

Intel getting billions of dollars for U.S. high-tech chip manufacturing


The U.S. government is pushing to secure semiconductor manufacturing domestically, with an 8.5 billion dollar grant for tech giant Intel.

Netanyahu due to address Senate Republicans

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to address US Republican Senators on Wednesday.


He's expected to cover the future of Israel and its war with Hamas in Gaza.


This comes as the US State Department announced Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel on Friday in an expansion of his Middle East trip.

Texas immigration law blocked again

A controversial Texas immigration law has been blocked just hours
after the Supreme Court allowed it to take effect.

The law known as Senate Bill 4 gives law enforcement the power to
detain people suspected of crossing the U.S. southern border
illegally.

The fate of SB4 is still unclear with a federal appeals court set to
convene again today.

Italian PM denies split in coalition over Russia
