US border official becomes the first cabinet member to be impeached in nearly 150 years

Alejandro Mayorkas — the man in charge of governing America's borders — has become the first US cabinet member to be impeached in nearly 150 years.

Representatives in Congress's lower chamber, the House of Representatives, voted narrowly on Tuesday night to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security, at the second time of asking.

President Biden urges Congress to pass foreign aid bill as he attacks "un-American" Donald Trump

US President Joe Biden has called Donald Trump "dumb, shameful and dangerous" for comments made about American allies.

Former President Trump — who's vying for the White House again — said he'd "encourage Russia to whatever the hell it wants" if NATO countries in Europe didn't spend enough on defence.

Those remarks, and Biden's response, come as lawmakers clash in Congress over a bill that would provide aid for Ukraine as well as Israel and Taiwan.
