Indian court allows Hindus to offer prayers at contested mosque

Muslim petitions say they will file a challenge in India's Supreme Court, after a local Indian court allowed Hindu rituals and prayers to be performed inside a contested mosque.

The Gyanvapi mosque has become the latest flashpoint between Muslims and Hindus.

Right wing groups claim the mosque was built on the site of a razed Hindu shrine.

More than 40-thousand without water a month on from Noto quake

 Tens of thousands of people remain without steady access to water a month on from the deadly earthquake in Japan’s Noto Peninsula. 

The tremor destroyed 44-thousand homes and killed more than 230 (238) people.

Zuckerberg apologizes to parents for online child abuse

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has apologized directly to the families of
children who have faced online abuse.

NYPD to record race of people they stop

New York police officers will have to record the apparent race, gender and ages of most people they stop for questioning under a new city law.


Under the new legislation passed by the City Council, the NYPD will document basic information in low-level encounters.


Proponents say it will make policing more transparent, but police representatives say the new rules will lead to increased workloads and longer wait times for victims.

Algeria plans to table fresh ceasefire resolution at the Security Council

There's increasing calls for an urgent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza
in the United Nations Security Council.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards say "not looking for war" as US mulls retaliation for lethal drone strike

The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, General Hossein Salami has said that the country is not "not looking for war" - appearing to signal it won't escalate tensions with the United States. 


The announcement comes after Iran-linked militia, Kataib Hezbollah, which is suspected of carrying out a drone strike that killed three American soldiers, said it was suspending its assaults on US military installations.

Work resumes in Collapsed Himalayan Tunnel after Two Months

ICJ to judge on Ukraine's case accusing Russia of funding terrorism and racial discrimination

The International Court of Justice will hand down a verdict on Wednesday on Ukraine's allegations filed in 2017, that Russia had funded terrorism by backing a separatist uprising in Ukraine's eastern region ten years ago, and that Moscow had discriminated against Crimea's Tatar minority since its annexation of the peninsula. Ukraine is also asking the court to order Russia to pay reparations for the attacks carried out in the east including the downing of the Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 in July 2014.
