India, Maldives hold high-level talks President Muizzu's troop withdrawal deadline

India and Maldives have held talks to reportedly find to a 'mutually workable solution' after President Muizzu requested New Delhi to withdraw all troops from the island nation by March 15.

The meeting comes at a time when relations between the two countries remain tense following a diplomatic spat and following Mr Muizzu's recent trip to China.

Rahul Gandhi launches second pan-India march ahead of elections

Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has launched another pan-India march, this one beginning from the riot-hit state of Manipur, where he accused Prime Minister Modi of letting down the people of the region.

More than 180 people have been killed in the violence that first started there in May last year.

Mr Gandhi plans to cover more than 6000 kilometers over 66 days spanning the breadth of the country from east to west ahead of elections later this year.

Iowa prepares for first-in-the-nation vote

China condemns countries that congratulate Taiwanese President Lai's victory

CUE: China's condemned the United States and other foreign countries that congratulated William Lai for winning the Taiwan presidential election at the weekend. 

Beijing has never ruled the democratic island of 24 million people but says it is part of Communist China and refuses to rule out a military attack to unite it with the mainland.

N Korea says it successfully launched solid-fueled ICBM

North Korea says a projectile it launched on Sunday was carrying a hypersonic warhead.

Antonio Guterres calls on the UK and the US to abide by international law

The United Nations Secretary General has called on all parties
involved in the attacks in the Red Sea not to escalate the situation

Thousands of Muslim teachers in India say they're at risk of losing jobs

India's most populous state has issued orders to stop payments to thousands of teachers at Muslim religious schools or madrasas.
