DIPLOMATIC RIFT OVER GRAIN STRAINS UKRAINE'S RELATIONS WITH POLAND

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appears to be trying to smooth over relations with neighbouring Poland, after a disagreement over grain imports grew into a major diplomatic row.

Travelling back from a UN meeting in New York, Zelenskyy stopped over in Poland to award two Polish volunteers with medals for service to Ukraine's armed forces.

Somalia Bomb Death toll Rises

The death toll from a bombing attack at a government checkpoint in central Somalia has reached 21 according to authorities. 

More than fifty people were wounded in Saturday's bombing.

India-Canada ties "important" says minister amid rising tensions

Canada's Defence Minister Bill Blaire says India-Canada relations are important, as tensions remain high between the two nations.

Nasa collects first asteroid sample in space

The first asteroid sample collected in space by US Space Agency, NASA, has arrived on Earth.

Scientists say the asteroid, Bennu, could tell us more about how life began. They're also keen to learn more about it as there's an outside chance it could hit Earth in the next 300 years.

California sues anti-abortion groups

The US state of California is suing anti-abortion groups for claiming they could reverse the effects of the abortion pill.


Heartbeat International and RealOptions told patients that a high dose of the hormone progesterone could undo a termination.


But California accused them of spreading misinformation.

New Jersey Dem Senator Bob Menendez and wife charged with corruption

New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez has been charged with accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for influence.

His wife, Nadine Arsalanian Menendez has been charged alongside him, for bribes which included gold and cash among other things.

UN calls on member states to reaffirm moratoriums on nuclear testing

The UN's High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Izumi Nakamitsu
has called on all States that have previously declared moratoriums on
nuclear testing, to "reaffirm these moratoriums".
Speaking at the 13th Conference Facilitating Entry into Force of the
Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, Nakamitsu said nations need to
take "immediate" steps to sign and ratify the Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
The treaty has yet to be enforced as it must be signed and ratified by
all 44 countries who have nuclear.
China, North Korea and the United States have not signed the treaty.
