UN calls on member states to reaffirm moratoriums on nuclear testing

The UN's High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Izumi Nakamitsu
has called on all States that have previously declared moratoriums on
nuclear testing, to "reaffirm these moratoriums".
Speaking at the 13th Conference Facilitating Entry into Force of the
Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, Nakamitsu said nations need to
take "immediate" steps to sign and ratify the Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
The treaty has yet to be enforced as it must be signed and ratified by
all 44 countries who have nuclear.
China, North Korea and the United States have not signed the treaty.
