Death toll from Himalayan landslides at 50

Landslides and record flooding have killed more than 50 people in north India as rain batters the country's Himalayan states.

Rescue operations continue, with officials warning the death toll could rise further.

Schools and other educational institutes in the affected states are shut, with the downpour rains expected to last till the end of the week.

Man in Australia Charged After Threatening to Blow Up Plane

Police in Australia have charged a man who claimed to have explosives on board a flight, forcing it to return to Sydney, where it took off from.

Uk Health Secretary Says Asylum Seekers Removed From Barge After Legionella Bacteria Found In Water Supply Should Be Put Back On

Asylum seekers housed on a barge off southern England should be returned to their accommodation, after Legionella bacteria was detected in the water supply, according to the UK health secretary.

Dozens dead in South Asia floods

55 people have died in floods in Bangladesh with most deaths reported from the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar.  

In India, more than 20 people have died, as temples and homes in the northern Himalayan region were washed away in the flash floods caused due to a cloud burst.
