Joe Biden makes economic pitch in major speech

US President Joe Biden is seeking to re-introduce his vision of middle-class American prosperity in a major speech in Chicago.


His plan — branded by the White House as 'Bidenomics' — is aimed, the administration says, at rebuilding the economy "from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down."

British water companies seek to raise bills by 40%

British water companies are seeking to increase household water bills by as much as 40% by the end of the decade.

France reacts to riots after teenager shot dead by police

More than 20 people have been arrested in France after overnight riots in towns across the Paris capital region, sparked by the killing of a teenager by police on Tuesday.

24 police officers were also injured responding to the unrest.
