The UK finance minister's meeting consumer watchdogs (On Wednesday) to discuss whether they could do more to limit price rises.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt wants to know if the energy, water and communications watchdogs believe companies are profiteering amid high inflation.

It follows research by the Trussell Trust showing one in seven people in the UK faced hunger last year because of a lack of money.

Russia situation "unsettling" Beijing: US security official
