Ed Sheeran testifies in copyright case

Singer Ed Sheeran has appeared in a New York court to deny claims he copied Marvin Gaye's music.


The British star was called to testify in a civil trial over allegations his song "Thinking Out Loud" ripped off Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On."

UN says situation in Haiti needs urgent attention

The United Nations says Haitians are living through an alarming surge
in violence in the country.
Addressing the security council on Wednesday, the UN's Haiti
representative Maria Isabel Salvador said the number of violent
incidents has more than doubled since last year.
Haiti has been plagued by political instability following the
assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.
Salvador says the situation has worsened and this has led to dire food
shortages in the country.

Disney sues Flordia Gov. Ron DeSantis

The very public feud between Disney and Ron DeSantis is now headed to court. The entertainment giant has filed a lawsuit against the Flordia Governor, alleging he "weaponized government power" to punish Disney for speaking out against his controversial "Don't Say Gay" bill - which limits gender and sexual orientation discussions in the classroom.

Sudan jailbreak frees war crimes suspect

The continued unrest in Sudan has led to the release of multiple
prisoners - including a former Sudanese politician wanted for alleged
war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Singaporean Drug Trafficker Executed Despite Calls for Clemency


A Singaporean man convicted for trying to traffic drugs has been executed despite calls for clemency from his family and activists.

46-year-old Tangaraju Suppiah was hanged at Changi Prison, according to his family.

First Republic Bank shares plunge nearly 50%
