“Toxic” fire raging at Indiana recycling plant, more than 2,000 residents told to evacuate

French President faces more protests ahead of upcoming pension strike

The French president's state visit to the Netherlands has been disrupted by pension reform protests.


Two people brandishing a banner tried to disrupt his arrival at the University of Amsterdam today.


It follows other protests during his meeting with Dutch students earlier this week.


On Thursday, French unions have called another day of mass social action.


And Friday, the country's constitutional council rules on the proposed legislation.

US lawmakers call for tougher gun laws following latest mass shootings

Lawmakers in the US states of Kentucky and Tennessee are calling for
tougher gun laws - following mass shootings in Louisville and
Nashville in the last two weeks.

11 people died in the incidents - including 5 in a shooting at a
downtown Louisville bank on Monday.

Police say the 25-year-old gunman, who was an employee at the bank,
bought the AR-15 style rifle legally just ahead of the killings.

IMF cuts global growth forecast

The International Monetary Fund has cut its global growth outlook for
