Roger Ng sentenced to 10 years for 1MDB scandal

A former Goldman Sachs banker has been sentenced to 10 years in prison over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal.


Roger Ng was convicted last April over the infamous embezzlement scandal.


US prosecutors say the 51-year-old played a 'critical role' in the bribery and money laundering scheme.


The 1MDB scandal saw financiers loot money intended for infrastructure to aid the Malaysian people.

Bodies of 2 men kidnapped in Mexico to be repatriated Thursday

The bodies of two men killed in a brazen kidnapping in Mexico last week are expected to be repatriated to the U.S. today (Thursday).

They were part of a group of four friends from South Carolina who had traveled to Matamoros, Mexico so one of them could undergo a medical procedure.

RUSSIA SEEKS TO JUSTIFY MISSILE BARRAGE AGAINST UKRAINE

The Russian Defence Ministry says the barrage of missiles it fired at multiple targets across Ukraine was a retaliatory strike for an attack against Russian citizens earlier in the month.

Moscow blames Kyiv for the shooting which killed two on Russian territory.

While an anti-Kremlin group claimed responsibility for crossing the Ukrainian border and killing civilians, Moscow says Kyiv must have authorised it, and this "massive" missile strike was its response.

U.S. President Joe Biden is set to unveil his budget on Thursday with proposals for higher taxes on the wealthy and more spending on his priorities like childcare and early education.

Markets edgy as await call on how much U.S. Central Bank will raise interest rates
