Tributes pour in following the death of soccer superstar Pele

Tributes from around the world are pouring in for Brazilian soccer superstar Pele who has died at the age of 82.

He passed away from complications resulting from the progression of colon cancer, according to a statement from Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein hospital where he was being treated.

A giant of the sport, Pele has won an unmatched three World Cups for his country and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever to have played the beautiful game.

Iconic fashion designer Vivienne Westwood dies aged 81

Legendary British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has died at the age of 81.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in South London according to a statement by her representatives.

Westwood burst onto the fashion scene in the 1970s and is known for her influence on the punk movement as well as her commitment to climate activism.

Julia Robson is a freelance fashion journalist - and she says Westwood was a pioneer throughout her illustrious career.

Santos under investigation in New York over resume "inconsistencies"

A Republican congressman-elect in the United States is resisting calls to resign after he admitted he lied about his education and career.

This follows a New York Times report into alleged inconsistencies regarding his background.

ExxonMobil sues EU over windfall tax

The US energy giant ExxonMobil is suing the European Union in a bid to stop the bloc's new windfall tax on oil firms.
