RECESSION RISK LOOMS AS UK ECONOMY STAGNATES

Weaker than expected GDP numbers have added to concerns in the UK that the country could be heading for a recession. 

With the figures falling short of predictions, pressure is building on the new UK Prime Minister Liz Truss to move faster in implementing a suite of measures she has promised to provide relief for households.

Trump fights DoJ over seized documents

Number of people in modern slavery is growing: UN

Rebel group in Ethiopia wants peace

Uganda Pays Reparations To the DR Congo

50 million people trapped in modern slavery: ILO

50 million people are trapped in modern slavery on any given day, a new report from the International Labour Organisation shows.


That marks an increase of 9.3 million since the last round of research in 2017, a worrying trend which runs counter to the United Nations' goal of eradicating all forms of modern slavery by 2030.

Tropical storm hits California, increasing wildfire risk

A rare tropical storm has reached Southern California, prompting widespread flood watches across a region that is home to nearly fifteen million people.
