50 million people are trapped in modern slavery on any given day, a new report from the International Labour Organisation shows.
That marks an increase of 9.3 million since the last round of research in 2017, a worrying trend which runs counter to the United Nations' goal of eradicating all forms of modern slavery by 2030.
