Japanese yen hits fresh 20-year low as government warns of economy risk

The Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Mannaseg Sogavare says the decision to sign a security pact with China will not undermine peace in the region.

Sogavare confirmed a deal had been inked a day after China's foreign ministry announced the signing in Beijing.

Biden: Americans should "decide for themselves" whether to wear masks on public transportation

US President Joe Biden has said that Americans should decide for themselves as to whether they keep wearing masks on aeroplanes, trains and buses.

It undercuts efforts by his own administration to urge people to keep wearing face coverings after a federal judge struck down a nationwide mask mandate on public transport.


The Justice Department said it will appeal the ruling if the Centers for Disease Control concludes the mandate is necessary for public health.

Biden touts infrastructure law and tightens environmental scrutiny relaxed by Trump
