Inflation drives up British government’s debt interest payments

MSF CLOSES DRC HOSPITALS

International medical charity Doctors Without Borders has announced the suspension of operations at two hospitals in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo due to safety and security concerns.
The suspension comes four months after the organization's convoy of vehicles was attacked by unidentified gunmen in Ituri province. Chris Ocamringa reports from the DRC capital Kinshasa.

China says no survivors found in Boeing passenger jet air crash

Chinese state media says no survivors have been found as searches continue amongst the scattered wreckage of a China Eastern Airlines Boeing passenger jet that crashed on Monday. 132 people were on board.

Zelensky accuses Russians of war crimes in Mariupol

Ukrainian officials say at least 8 people were killed when Russia shelled a residential area of the capital Kyiv overnight and obliterated a shopping center on the city's outskirts.


The Black Sea port of Odesa was also shelled by Russian naval forces…as Putin's army tightened its grip around the besieged city of Mariupol where humanitarian relief organizations say catastrophe is now developing.


President Zelensky accused the Russians of war crimes there.

All passengers and crew feared dead in China 737 crash, cause unknown

132 passengers and crew are feared dead after a China Eastern Boeing 737 crashed in southern China.


The plane was flying from Kungmin to Guangzhou when it came down in a hillside forest in Guangxi province.

Russia threatens to sever diplomatic relations with USA

The Russians say they are on the verge of severing diplomatic relations with the United States, after President Biden last week called President Vladimir Putin a "war criminal" for the civilian onslaught in Ukraine.


The US Embassy in Moscow has been the last channel of communication between the two governments since the Russian invasion began.


The Kremlin also said today that Ukrainian proposals for leader-level talks between President Putin and President Zelensky are unacceptable.
