Biden warns Xi of “consequences” for helping Russia

In a video call US President Joe Biden has directly warned China's
leader Xi Jinping that China will face "consequences" if it helps
Russia with its invasion of Ukraine.

The two men spoke for almost two hours - their first virtual meeting
in three months.

UN agency warns food supply chains are collapsing in Ukraine

The World Food Programme has warned that food supply chains in Ukraine are collapsing as a result of the Russian invasion.

It says the situation is becoming dire in "encircled cities" such as Mariupol.

Oil price rise pushing up airline fares, says Delta

Higher oil prices will lead to a spike in air fares, according to the boss of the world's second biggest airline. 


The US carrier Delta says passengers should expect a 10% increase in prices, or even more for international flights.

US Sanctions Ugandan Investor Over Illicit Gold Trade

The US Treasury has sanctioned Belgian businessman Alain Goetz, and his African Gold Refinery in Uganda, for smuggling millions of dollars worth of precious metal from conflict areas.

Final UK travel restrictions scrapped

All remaining Covid-19 travel restrictions have been scrapped in the UK. 

 

Passenger Locator Forms will no longer be necessary for passengers arriving in Britain and unvaccinated travellers will not need to take a Covid test upon arrival.

P&O Ferries workers to protest over 'jobs massacre"

Russian-backed TV channel RT loses license to broadcast in UK

Britain's media regulator has revoked RT's license to broadcast over the Russian channel's coverage of the Ukraine conflict - effective immediately.

PROTESTS AGAINST P&O SACKINGS

A series of protests is being held in the UK against P&O Ferries' decision to sack 800 staff without any notice.

Unions are threatening legal action against the ferry operator for removing the workers, in an announcement made while some were on board their ships.

Ugandan Leader Calls for Neutral Interim Government in Sudan

Wall St rallies despite concerns over Ukraine
