Uganda Refugee Influx

Uganda is dealing with a refugee influx situation in the western district of Bundibugyo bordering the DR Congo.

 

More than 7000 Congolese crossed into the country a week ago following attacks from suspected ADF rebels.

 

The refugees, mostly women and children are seeking asylum after the rebel group overrun their homes killing dozens and displaying thousands.

JOHNSON RESISTS CALLS TO APOLOGISE TO STARMER

Boris Johnson's currently resisting calls to apologise for incorrect claims about Labour leader Keir Starmer, who was surrounded by a mob in Westminster.

The group shouted at Keir Starmer about sex offender Jimmy Savile after false comments the Prime Minister made in the House of Commons last week.

Boris Johnson has since clarified his position, but hasn't apologised.

A number of his Conservative MPs are calling for him to say sorry to the Labour leader.

But cabinet minister Chris Philp says he doesn't believe Boris Johnson's to blame for the actions of a mob outside Parliament.

Car maker Hyundai faces backlash in India over 'Kashmir solidarity' tweets

Biden / Scholtz summit underway at White House

President Biden has welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz to the White House for talks aimed at ironing out disagreements in their respective positions on Ukraine.

Two arrested in London after UK opposition leader ambushed by protestors

Two people have been arrested in London after the leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, was ambushed by a crowd of angry protestors as he walked from a government briefing on the crisis in Ukraine…he was heading back to Parliament.


Some of the protestors echoed false claims made last week by Prime Minister Boris Johnson that as head of Britain's prosecution service, Sir Keir had failed to pursue pedophile broadcaster Jimmy Savile.

Blinken travels to Pacific as Washington calls on China to fulfill purchase commitments

Plan to ease the millions on NHS waiting list delayed

A plan to resolve the huge backlog of people waiting for hospital treatment in the UK has been delayed.
