Biden dealt another devastating blow on Capitol Hill by fellow Democrat

President Biden has suffered another massive legislative blow on Capitol Hill.


His proposal to change the rules in the US Senate in an effort to secure passage of two bills on voting rights has been rejected by a crucial member of his own party.


Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona said she would not support the rule change, dooming the President's plan.


Emerging from a meeting with Democrats on Capitol Hill, Mr. Biden was furious.

Downing Street garden party will not immediately be investigated by Metropolitan Police

Britain's Metropolitan Police say they have no plans to investigate a garden party held at Number Ten Downing Street in apparent breach of last summer's lockdown regulations.


Prime Minister Boris Johnson has now apologized for attending it, but the police say they will wait for a Downing Street internal inquiry before deciding whether a crime may have been committed.

Chinese 'agent' caught targeting British MPs

A Chinese government agent has been "engaged in political interference activities" in London "on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party," according to MI5.


The UK's Security Service sent a letter to Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle warning him and MPs that a woman has been working in Parliament to "subvert the processes."

Student enrollment at US colleges drops again

The number of students enrolling in US colleges has fallen again.


The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center said undergraduate enrollment in autumn 2021 dropped 3.1 percent, contributing to a 6.6 percent decline since 2019.

The singer Ronnie Spector, the leader of the hit 60s group "The Ronettes", has died at the age of 78.


Her family says she had a brief battle with cancer.
