GERMANY'S COVID 'STATE OF EMERGENCY' TO END IN NOVEMBER

Germany has outlined new plans for how it manages the Covid-19 pandemic, with senior party leaders agreeing the official state of emergency should come to an end. 

It means several restrictions will now be put on hold, while some other measures will remain in place until early next year.

Artworks taken by France in 19th century to be returned to Benin

Thrones, statues and masks are among the 26 pieces of art and cultural heritage that will be returned by France to Benin next month.


The furniture and sculptures were taken after fighting between France and the Kingdom of Dahomey (PRON: Da-oh-mey) in Benin in the late 1800s.

India's Supreme Court orders probe into Pegasus snooping allegations

India's top court has ordered an independent probe into allegations that the government used Israeli spyware Pegasus to snoop on critics, journalists and opposition leaders.

The Indian government has denied the allegations, saying no illegal surveillance was carried out but has refused to confirm or deny if the spyware was used.

Australia - No exemptions for unvaccinated tennis players despite Prime Ministers guarantee.

The Premier of the state of Victoria, which hosts the Australian Tennis Open, says unvaccinated players will not be granted an exemption to enter Australia to play the January tournament.



This comes in response to the Australian Prime Ministers Scott Morrison statement that unvaccinated players would be allowed into Australia for the tournament, but would need to quarantine for two weeks.

US FDA authorises Pfizer jab for 5 - 11-year-olds

Buckingham Palace: Queen will NOT attend Cop26 in person

UN climate report warns of risks of missing COP climate targets

China imposes fresh restrictions to battle Delta variant

China has locked down a city of four million, in an effort to stamp out a spike in coronavirus cases.

The city involved, Lanzhou, has seen six news cases, and residents have been told to shelter in place, unless they have an emergency.
