India's top court has ordered an independent probe into allegations that the government used Israeli spyware Pegasus to snoop on critics, journalists and opposition leaders.
The Indian government has denied the allegations, saying no illegal surveillance was carried out but has refused to confirm or deny if the spyware was used.
