Belarusian athlete who refused flight from Olympics seeks asylum in Poland

A Belarusian athlete who refused to board a flight in Tokyo has applied for asylum in Poland, and plans to leave for the country in the coming days. 

24-year-old athlete Krystina Tsimanouskaya says Belarusian officials tried to force her to fly home from the Olympics after she criticised the way the team was run.

Resident Doctors in Nigeria Begin Indefinite Strike

Resident Doctors in Nigeria have embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike.


They are pressing for improved allowances among other concerns.

UK travel rule updates means families reuniting -- but also confusion and uncertainty
