S. SUDAN RUNS OUT OF VACCINES

South Sudan's Health Ministry says the country has run out of COVID-19 vaccines after exhausting the supply of AstraZeneca doses it received from the COVAX facility in March this year.

The country received 132 thousand doses of vaccines from but returned 72 thousand to COVAX over fears that the country would not use all the vaccines before expiry.

Belgium observes national day of mourning as flood death toll rises

Belgium is observing a national day of mourning for those who lost their lives or were impacted by last week's devastating floods. 

Nearly 200 people are reported to have died in Belgium and western Germany. Hundreds are still missing, with the death toll expected to rise. 

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit one of the worst impacted regions on Tuesday.

India records the lowest daily rise in COVID infections in over 4 months

India recorded the lowest rise in daily infections in over 4 months. Data from the Indian Health Ministry shows that the country recorded 30,093 fresh coronavirus infections in the past day.

The total number of COVID infections in India is at 31.1 million, and with 374 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total death toll is over 414,000.

India reports lowest daily Covid-19 figure in four months

India on Tuesday reported its lowest number of new daily Covid-19 infections in four months, at 30,093 cases, according to health ministry figures.

The country recorded 374 Covid deaths in the past 24 hours - its lowest since the end of March.

This comes as the country is emerging from a deadly second wave of infections. Meanwhile a new study estimates the number of excess deaths during the pandemic at 10 times the official toll.

UK GOVT TO 'WORK WITH' NIGHTCLUB OWNERS ON 'VACCINE PASSPORTS'

China accuses US of enlisting allies in smear campaign

China has hit back at accusations of a global hacking spree and says the US is roping in its allies to smear the country.


The US led a broad coalition of nations, including the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and New Zealand as well as the European Union and NATO warning of the threat.


US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said China was responsible for a pattern of irresponsible, disruptive and destabilizing behavior in cyberspace.
