US forces in Syria come under rocket fire after airstrikes against Iran-backed militia

US forces in Syria have come under rocket fire according to a US military spokesperson.

It comes after US President Joe Biden ordered airstrikes in the Iraq-Syria border region against facilities used by Iran-backed militia.

Judge Dismisses Facebook Antitrust Complaint

A federal judge has thrown out the Federal Trade Commission's antitrust case against Facebook, a major victory for the social media giant.

Miami rescue teams hoping for "miracle" to find survivors

In the U.S. state of Florida, search and rescue teams say they're now pinning their hopes on a miracle to find survivors, five days after the partial collapse of an apartment building.

Tech pushes U.S. markets to hit fresh record highs

UK UNLOCKING UPDATE (MONDAY)

UK MPs will be updated later (Monday) on whether remaining covid-19 restrictions can be lifted from the English economy.

Newly-appointed Health Secretary Sajid Javid will update the Commons on whether England is still on track to fully reopen on July 19th.

He's expected to say an earlier easing for July 5th will not take place.

Covid cases are up nearly 60% week-on-week in the UK, but hospitalisations and deaths remain low due to vaccinations.

Cabinet minister Robert Buckland says the July 19th target looks doable.
