EUROVISION BANS BELARUS' SONG

The organisers of Eurovision say the song submitted by Belarus must be amended — or a new song selected — after deciding it "puts the non-political nature of the Contest in question".

The international song competition pits European countries against each other, and entrants must sing an original song.

But the Belrusian entry has a chorus which makes fun of the political opposition and citizens protesting against the government.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says that the British capital's streets are 'not safe for women or for girls'.


This comes after 33-year-old Sarah Everard disappeared in Southeast London as she walked home on the evening of March 3rd.


Police investigators say that human remains were discovered in a wooded area near Kent but could not be identified.


A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of murder and kidnapping in connection with her disappearance.

Jobless claims tick up less than expected as new stimulus looms

Judge reinstates third-degree murder charge in trial of Derek Chauvin


A Minneapolis judge has reinstated a charge of third-degree murder in the trial of Derek Chauvin.

The former police officer is accused of killing George Floyd in May last year, a 46-year-old black man whose death sparked worldwide anti-racism protests.

Denmark suspends use of Astrazeneca vaccine

EU extends export controls until the end of June

The European Union will extend export controls on coronavirus vaccines until the end of June.

Biden to tour US promoting $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill (wrap)
