EU demands AstraZeneca supplies from UK plants

The EU has held a third round of crisis talks with AstraZeneca, demanding that all obligations for vaccine supplies are met. 

The bloc had signed a deal for 400million shots of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, but has been told just a quarter of what was promised will be delivered in the first quarter. 

The EU is now calling for supplies from AstraZeneca's UK plant.

Universities in Uganda to Remain Closed Due to Surging COVID-19 Cases

Australia – Malka Leifer faces court after extradition from Israel

Fugitive school principal Malka Leifer (pron.Lyfa) has been remanded in custody, after facing court for the first time for the alleged sexual abuse of three sisters almost 20 years ago.


Leifer fled Australia for Israel in 2008, with Australian authorities first seeking her extradition in 2014.

Blinken confirms Biden administration is freezing arms sales to UAE and Saudi Arabia


US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has confirmed the Biden administration is freezing planned arms sales to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Blinken was confirmed by the US Senate as America's top diplomat this week.

Boeing posts record annual loss

Hunger and malnutrition in Ethiopia’s Northern region

AstraZeneca hits back at EU criticism over vaccine delays
