The UK government says its vaccination programme will still prioritise giving covid-19 jabs to the oldest patients - even as it starts to move down the age ranges.

Over 4 million people have now received a first vaccine dose.

The government has a target of giving first doses to its four top priority groups by the middle of February.

Indian farmers gear up to intensify their protest against the new agriculture laws

Indian farmers who have been protesting on the outskirts of Delhi, are gearing up for a tractor rally scheduled to take place on 26th January - which is India's Republic Day.

The Supreme Court of India, while hearing a plea seeking an injunction on the tractor rally, said that the Delhi Police should decide if the protesting farmers should be allowed entry into the capital.

UK travel corridors have closed

All UK travel corridors have now closed. The corridors meant that those coming to Britain from selected countries could avoid quarantine, even during the pandemic.

Germany ponders nighttime curfew to combat Covid-19
