OXFORD VACCINE APPROVED FOR USE IN UK

The Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine has been approved for use in the UK.

It will be rolled out from January 4th, with 100 million doses ordered by Britain.

The UK medicines regulator says the Oxford jab is safe and effective.

It's also cheaper, and simpler to produce and store - making rapid rollout more easy.

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock says it's a significant moment.

China jails Hong Kong fugitives for illegal border crossing

China has sentenced ten Hong Kongers to jail for illegally crossing the border, after they were arrested while allegedly trying to flee to Taiwan by boat. 

The group has been detained in China for more than four months since being intercepted by the Chinese coastguard. 

The sentencing comes amid international calls for the group to be released immediately.

Tanzania’s National Laboratory ordered to give Covid-19 test results in 24 hours



Tanzania's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has directed the management of the National Community Health Laboratory to provide Covid-19 test results to people expecting to travel outside the country within 24 hours instead of the previous 72 hours.
