U.S. President-Elect Joe Biden has formally unveiled his picks for cabinet, announcing posts including Secretary of State, Homeland Security and National Intelligence.


Pledging to rein in the pandemic, and restore America’s reputation, Joe Biden said he was ready to begin the work of healing and uniting America as well as the world.

Millions of Americans travel for Thanksgiving despite coronavirus surge


Millions of Americans are defying warnings not to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, as the US breaks records for rates of coronavirus hospitalizations.


The Centers for Disease Control has advised people to stay at home but the American Automobile Association projects 50 million people will still travel.

EU signs contract with Moderna for 160m vaccines

The European Union has announced with US biotech firm Moderna to secure 160million doses of its Covid-19 vaccine.

France condemns violence in Ethiopia

EARLY QUARANTINE EXIT FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS TO ENGLAND

International arrivals to England will be able to reduce their quarantine period to six days, from December 15th.

It will require travellers from destinations not on the government's travel corridors list to pay for a covid-19 test after five days of isolation.

Uganda HIV Drug Trials

US Election appears to be over after top Trump official starts formal transition

The US election finally appears to be over after a key official within the Trump administration formally began the process of transition to a government headed by President-elect Joe Biden.


President Trump, on Twitter, said he will continue to fight to overturn the election's outcome, but he said he was authorizing the move by the General Services Administration of the US Government in the best interests of the country.

GM Goes into Reverse Over Fuel Efficiency Fight

General Motors says it will no longer back the Trump administration in its battle with California over fuel-efficiency regulations. The car manufacturer says its goals for cleaner cars are aligned with California's and those of the incoming Biden administration.
