China Claims Cake Set Off Diplomats in Scuffle at Taiwanese Event in Fiji


China has hit back at Taiwan's claims it was responsible for a scuffle that broke out between their diplomats at a reception to mark Taiwan's national day in Fiji.

It says that a cake helped fuel the bust up.

US charges six Russian hackers over international cyber attacks

France raids homes of suspected Islamists after beheading attack on teacher

WALES TO IMPLEMENT LOCKDOWN

Wales is returning to a state of lockdown, with similar rules as at the peak of the pandemic in March.

The First Minister, Mark Drakeford, says the "firebreak" lockdown will deliver a "short, sharp shock". It's due to begin on Friday and last for 17 days.

Report finds examples of overt racism in New York courts

Europe imposes new restrictions as case numbers surge

Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, says the training for a new police tactical team, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) will commence on Monday.

The new SWAT unit was set-up to replace the now defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit, which millions of Nigerians have forced the government to scrap after years of alleged police brutality.

Trump criticized for Michigan Governor "lock her up" chants

Democrats have criticized chants at a Trump rally to lock up the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. 

The President's supporters chanted that Whitmer should be jailed for closing parts of the state's economy to deal with COVID-19.

Whitmer, who was recently the target of a right-wing militia plot to kidnap and execute her, told NBC the President should have silenced the chants.
