Germany reports record high coronavirus infections

Germany's public health body has warned Covid-19 infection rates are now the highest they've been since the pandemic hit the country. The country is seeing a daily rise in cases, as more restrictions are put in place by lawmakers to try and stop the disease spreading further.

LONDON MOVES INTO HIGHER COVID RESTRICTIONS

Police in London say they'll be stepping up patrols this weekend to crack down on breaches of coronavirus rules.

Nine million people in the British capital face Tier 2 covid-19 restrictions from midnight local time - banning different households from mixing in any indoor setting.

Dozens of people killed in floods in India

S. Korea sees large drop in cases after holiday spike

South Korean health authorities have reported a large drop in coronavirus infections in the past day. Cases had remained in the triple digits following two long holiday weekends. But the case total has fallen below 50 new infections as the country enforces its lowest level of social distancing.

Republican Senators to Subpoena Twitter CEO

Republican senators say they are planning to subpoena Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey over the platform's decision to block access to two newspaper articles about presidential candidate Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden.


Twitter said it blocked users from sharing the articles over concerns that they were based on hacked material.

Postive covid test for Biden plane passenger but campaign says former VP doesn't need to quarantine.

The Biden Campaign has said an individual who shared a plane with Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19.

EU says Brexit talks will continue next week in London followed leaders summit

UN human rights chief cautions against draconian rape laws

The United Nations human rights chief has called on governments to ramp up efforts to prevent rape and sexual crimes, but cautioned against laws that carry cruel and inhuman punishments, including surgical castration and the death penalty.

Jobless claims in U.S. spike to highest level in over a month

London to go into 'high' tier of lockdown from this weekend

Millions of people in London are bracing themselves for the next level of Coronavirus restrictions.


At midnight on Friday (aka Saturday morning), the capital will move into Tier 2 of the UK's three-tier system, from 'medium' risk to 'high.'
