FBI Agent Says Plotters Discussed Kidnapping Governor of Virginia

A group of men accused of plotting to kidnap the governor of Michigan also reportedly discussed kidnapping the  governor of Virginia...those governors reportedly considered  because of their states' lockdown orders.  This information comes from  testimony given by an FBI agent at a hearing about whether the accused conspirators should be detained before trial.

UK OPPOSITION PARTY LEADER CALLS FOR NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

The leader of the UK Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer, has called for a "2 to 3 week circuit break" lockdown, to try to stem the rise of infections in the UK.

He's basing that recommendation on leaked scientific advice provided to the UK Government, some of which it has so far chosen not to follow.

He says the plan would keep schools open, but otherwise look similar to the national lockdown earlier in the year.

Conservative US Supreme Court nominee evades questions about key issues in politically charged confirmation hearing (wrap)

US Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett has evaded questions about her views on key issues on day two of her Senate confirmation hearing.


She also said that no one at the White House has pressured her to rule in any particular way. 


The hearing is politically charged as her confirmation would cement a conservative majority on the country's highest court for years to come.

EU wins right to slap tariffs on US imports over Boeing subsidies

The EU has won the right to impose tariffs on $4billion worth of American products, in retaliation for illegal state aid given to US aeroplane manufacturer Boeing.

IMF: Global economy “remains prone to setbacks” from COVID-19

The International Monetary Fund warns despite improvement the global

Indian political leader demands for complete ban on cow slaughter nationwide

A protest led by a member of India's ruling political party - the BJP has tried to block the entrance of a zoo in the state of Assam.

Vehicles trying to enter the zoo were carrying beef to feed tigers.

The BJP believes that cows should be protected as they are considered holy by India's majority Hindu population.

Covid deaths in England and Wales quadruple in a month

The number of deaths involving COVID-19 in England and Wales has risen for the fourth consecutive week.


The Office for National Statistics says a total of 321 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the last week of September -- that's the highest figure since mid-July.

WHO warns against herd immunity as Europe sees second wave
