California to Ban Sales of Gas-Powered Vehicles

California governor Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order banning the sale of gasoline-powered cars in the next fifteen years.


The state is the first in the US to try and implement a blanket ban.

France tightens measures with restaurant closures in Marseille

Bars and restaurants in France's second city of Marseille will be closed from Monday onwards for a period of at least two weeks, as the country struggles under a second wave of the coronavirus.


France's health secretary announced the new measures, which included naming Paris as one of the regions most at risk from the surge in new infections and hospitalisations.

Justice Department Seeks to Limit Legal Protection for Social Media Companies

One ex-police officer charged in relation to fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor


One former police officer has been charged with "wanton endangerment" in relation to the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor.

The 26-year-old died in a police shooting inside her own home in the US state of Kentucky in March.

UK transfers US evidence on Islamic State 'Beatles' militants

The UK has sent evidence to the United States about two British men who are alleged Islamic State militants.

Uganda Prison Escapees Turn Positive for COVID-19
