Chinese Media Detail Raids on Journalists Homes in Australia

Chinese state media has detailed what it called a "horrendous raid" on the homes of Chinese journalists in the latest development linked to the evacuation of two Australian reporters from China.

It said that no reasonable explanation has been given by the Australians.

Hong Kong police arrest 15 over share surge in Jimmy Lai's company

There's controversy in Hong Kong following the arrests of 15 people accused of masterminding volatile price swings in the shares of democracy activist Jimmy Lai's company.

EU WARNS UK TO DROP PROPOSED BILL OR FACE LEGAL ACTION

The European Union says the UK must scrap a proposed law which would override parts of their withdrawal agreement.

The bill is designed to allow no new checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain if a trade deal is not reached between the two sides - an outcome dubbed 'no deal'.

UK AND EU HOLD EMERGENCY TALKS

The UK and EU are holding emergency talks in London on Thursday over legislation which could override parts of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.

The UK says it's necessary as a contingency if no trade deal is reached with the EU.

But Brussels says trust has been damaged, as talks on that trade deal also continue in London.

A Brexit transition period concludes at the end of this year, by which time both sides had said they wanted a trade agreement in place.

India crosses 4.46 million COVID 19 cases

India reported a jump of nearly 96,000 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the country's caseload past 4.46 million infections.
