The UK is threatening to walk away from post-Brexit talks with the EU and pursue a no-deal outcome if an agreement is not struck before the European Council in October.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson had argued his government would "get Brexit done" with an "oven-ready deal," yet now says if both sides can't reconcile their differences in the coming weeks, then Britain will "accept that and move on," claiming this would be a "good outcome" for the country.
The deadline for a free-trade deal is at the end of this year.
