Biden travels to Kenosha to meet Blake family

US presidential hopeful Joe Biden is visiting Kenosha, Wisconsin, the
city that's seen violence following the shooting of a black man by
police.

His visit comes two days after President Donald Trump visited the
important swing state.

Mass Covid-19 testing of population to be trialled in England

The British government is promising to spend £500m ($660) on mass coronavirus testing across the country which it hopes will offer a "route back to normal life." 


The UK's Health Secretary Hancock says the trial of regular community testing — starting with schoolchildren, teachers, office workers — will "help suppress the virus and enable more of the things that make life worth living."

UK TRIALS MASS CORONAVIRUS TESTING

The UK government's announced plans for mass-testing for coronavirus which it says could be a 'huge step forward' in returning life to normal.

It's announced £500m in funding for trials of no-swab saliva tests, as well as 20 minute testing.

If successful, it could see regular mass testing rolled out to offices, stations, town centres and other busy locations.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says it's hoped it could lead to a huge expansion in testing during the winter in Britain.

Russian officials dismiss allegations of Navalny poisoning

India records biggest single day spike in COVID19 cases globally

More than 83,000 people tested positive in India in a single day, data released on Thursday shows.

GERMANY SAYS RUSSIAN OPPOSITION LEADER POISONED

The German government says Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was "without doubt" poisoned with a Novichok nerve agent.

He's being treated in Berlin, after falling ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow.
