British man admits to manslaughter of Vietnamese migrants

A British haulier has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 39 Vietnamese migrants found dead inside a lorry container in south-east England last October.


Ronan Hughes, aged 40 from Northern Ireland, also admitted to conspiring to assist unlawful immigration at the Old Bailey courthouse in London.

Huge loss for London Gatwick airport -- and it will take years to recover

London Gatwick airport has reported a £343m ($450m) loss after passenger numbers fell by two-thirds in the first half of the year.


Britain's second-busiest air hub, which recently announced plans to cut 100s of jobs, says its revenues plunged by 61% in the first half of 2020 compared to last year.

Belgium bans travel to and from Paris and parts of Spain

Belgians will be banned from traveling to Paris from Friday, as well a number of other regions of France seeing a spike in COVID-19 infections.

The French health authorities have announced another post-lockdown record of new coronavirus cases.

India sees record spike of more than 77,000 new COVID-19 infections
